Lawn course: Great surface for competition, perfect use for "extra" lawn areas that are already being mowed and cared for (hilly, treed, off the beaten path, etc.)

Snow course: This is an awesome game to play in the snow!  It gets you outside in the winter, besides doing just sledding and skiing.  Wicketball played in the snow has a completely different feel than the lawn course. 

Sand course: At the beach, can play in bare feet, great recreation

Mixed course: Sand/Grass - Dirt/Grass - Dirt/Sand... they'll all provide a different type of game.
